The Public Policy major provides students with background from a variety of disciplines (philosophy and political science in dealing with value conflicts; economics for assessing risks and costs and benefits; research methods and statistics for evaluating programs; and communication for understanding public relations and advocacy) so they are prepared to contribute effectively to formulation, implementation, and evaluation of public policy.

Electives 4 courses (12 credits)


Students choose four courses (12 credits) from either Economic and Business Policy, Political and Social Policy, or Policy Advocacy as their main area of emphasis. A partial list of available classes is provided below:

Additional Requirements 3 courses (9 credits)


Internship and Practicum Credits with (SOCSCI 1040) and Program Evaluation (6 cr.), and Public Policy Capstone Course (3 cr.)
