ANTH 1445 - LANGUAGE AND CULTUREMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 Language is the primary means of communication among humans. It operates on multiple levels, verbal and non-verbal, social, and cultural. The first part of the course introduces the main components of human language such as phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics. The second portion will focus on the connections between language and culture and the social contexts and forms (gender, class, etc.) In which language use occurs.
