Explicitly teaches vocabulary development and enrichment, various comprehension strategies, including context clues, sentence patterns, and paragraph and essay components through interesting, thought-provoking readings. Additional competencies include, but are not limited to, skills for critical reading and thinking and for finding appropriate reading rates.
