INFSCI 1073 - APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT FOR MOBILE DEVICESMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course is an overview of mobile application development technologies and covers three broad categories of mobile application development: (1) Web applications that are developed specifically for viewing on and interacting with on mobile devices (2) Native apps that are developed using languages and technologies specific to a particular mobile platform (3) Applications that are developed using 3-rd party technologies and platforms and compiled to a mobile OS native code. Students will complete a series of projects that will result in interactive apps developed using HTML5, CSS3 and jQuery, apps developed specifically for Android mobile platform using Java programming language and Google Android SDK, and apps (games) developed in Unity 3D and deployed to Android and iOS. Key topics include web application development, web services, HTML5, jQuery, CSS3, PhoneGap, Android Development Studio, Android SDK, Android user interfaces, and Unity 3D mobile game development.
