Covers the Persian Empire of antiquity and traces the introduction of foreign cultures over the centuries - Greeks, Arabs, Turks, and Europeans to create the multifaceted society of Modern Iran. Classical culture and religious history are discussed, as are modern political developments in the 20th and 21st centuries.
