People face a range of problems that need outside help to resolve. Such problems include human rights, preservation of a people and/or their culture, adaptation to increasingly complex technology and Western society, discrimination, homelessness, high levels of infant mortality, resettlement of entire villages, and conducting business between people of different cultures. This course will examine some of these problems, and the role that anthropologists play in helping to explain/resolve the problems. Concepts of policy and policy analysis will provide a framework for analysis.
