ANTH 0500 - HISTORY CULTURAL ANTHROPOLOGY

The course is intended for social science majors and future anthropology majors in particular. The course will cover the major ideas in anthropology from the 19th through the 20th century, from cultural evolution and social Darwinism to cognitive anthropology. One concern will be on how fieldwork influenced theory and vice versa.
