HUMAN 1140 - THEORY AND METHODS OF THE VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTSMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course is designed to introduce students to the theories and basic methods used by visual and performing artists, and to the research tools needed to employ these methods. We will explore the different approaches to art objects/performances and their historical contexts used in the discipline of art history/music/theatre. The goal of this course is to teach you how to read critically as well as to learn to identify, interpret, and use a variety of research methodologies as you collect, read, analyze, and discuss representative texts.
