HIST 1947 - RISE OF THE NATIONAL SECURITY STATEMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course examines the history of the National Security State in the United States, tracing its origins from the early 20th century with a particular focus on the rise and expansion at the federal level after WWII. Areas of focus will also include the increasing use of surveillance in the United States, including those by various federal and state agencies, corporations, organizations, and individuals.
