HIST 1580 - 19TH CENTURY LATIN AMERICAMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course discusses the major political, economic, social and ideological developments of the Latin American world from the Independence Wars (1810-1825) to the first decade of the Twentieth Century. Emphasis will be placed on the similarities and differences among the newly emerging nations as they sought to find individual and recognizable status in the industrialized Western world.
