MUSIC 1226 - CLASSICAL AND EARLY ROMANTIC MUSICMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 The course will begin a few decades before 1750, tracing the new stylistic trends that grew up in Italy and France during Bach's lifetime, and will continue through Mozart, Haydn, and Beethoven to the composers of the early nineteenth century who still composed within the classical aesthetic, e.g. Schubert, Schumann, and Mendelssohn.
