BIOSC 1870 - ANIMAL PHYSIOLOGYMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 Course is a survey of the current state of our knowledge of how animals work. The emphasis will be on physiological mechanisms for survival in natural environments. A comparative approach will stress the diversity of physiological adaptations throughout the animal kingdom. Topics include nutrition, metabolism, muscle, respiration, circulation, osmoregulation, sensory and neural physiology, and hormones. The material will stress multi-cellular systems of organization at the levels of tissues, organs, and whole animals.
